December

It's been awhile since my last post but I have been behind the sceens working on a few projects for the holidays. I started out with making 250 Christmas cards. That was a big project and filled up most of my wkends for awhile. Then I was helping my husband who is making wooden boxes to sell on Etsy. We decided to make a few Christmas ones too. We still have yet to put them on Etsy haha. I will post a link once we do. The other projects I worked on were a project life album for the month of Dec, a canvas for myself and some scrapbooking of coarse!! Time does fly when you are having fun!

Here are some of my creations.

Guest on Pixels and Paper

This month I am a guest on Pixels and Paper. How cool is that. Pixels and Paper is a scrapbooking challenge blog run by the wonderful Jane Howden. It's where you have a photograph to inspire you to create a page based off of it.

Here is the photo for this months challenge

Here is the page I created. I was inspired by the colours, the roses and the glass jar. I placed a polkadot  acrylic sheet over my layout to resemble being in the jar.

trick or treat

Here are a couple more projects that I have created for Halloween. Enjoy.

I am making an album for my upcoming 20th wedding anniversary.

A halloween card, I like the eyes that are embossed at the bottom.

A treat box yet to be filled with goodies.

Finally using my chevron bags that I've had forever.

Monster Box

Here is a Halloween treat box I made using my Freaky Friends set. I made an easy box using an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of cardstock.

Here I heat embossed the paper with my image.

I then scored the cardstock. Starting on the left, I scored 2 inches to the right then again at 5" , 7'" and ending at 10". You will have a 1 inch piece on the right hand side when you are done. Do not cut that off as you need it to glue your box together. The only other score I did was a 2" score from the bottom the the piece of paper that goes under the images and all the way across the piece of paper.

As you can see in this photo and the one above. Once you make the 2" vertical score on the bottom of the paper, you cut up to the 2 inches. This creates the flaps at the bottom of your box  that you will fold and glue.

on the one side where you were left with the 1" score, cut this off. Be careful only to cut this small piece off, nothing else.

Now fold along all of your score lines and tape the bottom and the side of your  box. I use stick strip to make the box a little more sturdy to hold things in it.

I then created my stamped image to place on the front of the box. All supplies that were used for this project are stampin up.

I did get the orginal idea fromt he amazing Mary Fish.

Heidi

Today I made a card for a friend who has lost her beloved labrador named Heidi. Having gone through this myself, I know how sad it is to loose your pet and how your home feels so empty without them. I wanted to send a card letting her know I was thinking of her.

I used stampin up products. Colours are calypso coral, blushing bride and blackberry bliss. I used the stamp set called Gorgeous Grunge. The heart I took a heart die and my sponge and just traced around it using the blackberry.

Thanks for stopping by.

What September Brings

Starting in Sept, I start making Christmas cards. I offer cards for sale this year to friends and family and ended up now having to make 220 cards. Needless to say, that is what I have been working on. Here are a few sneak peaks of what has been happening.

Here is using the Stampin up set Endless Wishes. I wanted to use the silver and thought it looks great witht then in colour called Blackberry Bliss (love that colour). I added a few sequins for bling.

These are for a card that I saw on Pinterest using the serene silhouettes stamp set. The image is stamped in black staz on and then the little birds are covered with the red glitter glue. It really does add a pretty effect.

This card I created using my new set from Stampin Up called Ornamental Pine. I was going for that cabin in the woods feel to the card. I had some washi tape (not stampin up) that I added to the bottom of the card and then a couple of sequins to add a bit of pop. I like how it turned out.

Hello September

I was out in my yard today and thought I would share a few photos of my garden. Hard to believe that it is Sept already. Soon we will see the leaves turn and the cool winds blow but for now, I'm just going to enjoy my own little beautiful space in this world.

challenge Yourself #9

Today I found a cool challenge site called Challenge yourself. It's where you have scrapbook challenges but somehow they are based around YOU. I think that is awesome because I do all this scrapbooking of others and often forget about myself or don't like the pictures I see of myself so I put those to the side.

I choose to start with challenge # 9 which is the current challenge over at Challenge Yourself. I was to create a page using a photo of you at the age you are at. So here it goes…….. me at 46…..where does the time go?
